Instructor-led courses are conducted as a workshop in a classroom with an instructor. Courses are delivered online or on location at the time specified. Each course is designed to run 3 hours in length and approved for 0.3 EOCP CEUs. If you would like to participate in these courses you must register for a session.

Emergency Response & Contingency Planning

Short description

This introductory level course will help small water system operators write a basic Emergency Response & Contingency Plan (ERCP). Attendees will learn the components of an ERCP, identify the types of emergencies that can impact a water system and apply actions and communication procedures to these emergency scenarios. Attendees will be able to complete a draft version of their ERCP during this course. There are no prerequisite courses or education required for attendance. 

Water Quality Monitoring of your Small Water System

This introductory level course will provide information to small water system operators on how to create a basic “water quality monitoring plan”. Attendees will learn about monitoring drinking water infrastructure, chemical and bacterial parameters to help keep the water system in good working order and quickly identify and correct problems when they arise. We will also discuss best practices and legislative requirements for operations and management of a small water system.
